As a recent graduate of Interior Architecture at Rhode Island School of Design, my goal is to remove self-imposed barriers that inhibit creativity and reach beyond formulas to interpret the world as I experience it.  Merging the ‘old’ and ‘new’ through adaptive reuse studies permits contemporary insertions that communicate with the historic foundation upon which they are inspired.
Interiors facilitate experiences.  Material, light, perspective, shape, form and composition elicit a sensory response within the viewer.  The ability to create spaces which transport, inspire, resonate and adapt is why the discipline fascinates me.
The foundation of my studies in Interior Architecture is drawn upon my training as a fine artist.  Similar to intervention in architecture, the viewer’s experience with painting can likewise be transformative.  Perspective, material, shape, form and composition create an emotive dialogue between the work and viewer.  It is this moment of connectivity  that I wish to harness in both my fine art and interior architecture work.
